Or you can take the Carretera Siglo XXI from Morelia to Ixtapa which is an approximate 3.30 hours drive. We highly recommend the second option. From Mexico City by bus takes about 10 hours to get to Ixtapa. From Mexico City by internal flight with Aeromexico and Mexicana Click. A new airline-Interjet-flies from Toluca to Ixtapa. Mexicana Click and Interjet offer very good airline rates.
